Privacy Policy

Overview

Dudes Drinking Bourbon ("DDB", "we", "us") respects your privacy. We collect only what we need to operate this site, verify legal drinking age, honor your cookie choices, support optional accounts for comments, and (with your consent) send occasional newsletter updates or browser push alerts for new Fire Pit Nights. See our Terms of Service for site use rules.

Data we collect

• Age verification status stored locally in your browser to avoid repeated prompts.
• Cookie consent preferences stored locally to record your choices.
• Account details if you create an account — display name, email, and authentication data stored in Cloudflare D1 via Better Auth. You may sign in with email and password today; if we enable social sign-in (such as Google, Facebook, or other providers we choose to support), we may also store a link to your provider account and basic profile information they share with us for authentication only.
• Comments you post on photos or other content, linked to your account.
• Newsletter email when you subscribe (including optional opt-in at account sign-up or Preferences), stored in D1 with consent time and source (page, popup, signup, or preferences).
• Browser push subscription when you enable Fire Pit Night alerts — endpoint and encryption keys stored in D1, optionally linked to your account if you are signed in.
• Technical logs from our hosting provider (Cloudflare) for security and performance, where applicable.
• Admin social platform connections — when authorized DDB administrators connect official YouTube, Meta, or TikTok accounts for content publishing, encrypted OAuth tokens and account identifiers are stored in Cloudflare D1. This is separate from member sign-in and is not triggered by browsing the site. See our Terms of Service for how those integrations are used.

Accounts and comments

Accounts are optional and used so you can comment on photos and future content. Comments are published immediately and attributed to your display name. You may remove your own comments; the text is replaced with a removed notice so any replies can stay in the thread.

If we offer social sign-in, choosing that option means you authorize the provider to share limited account information with us (such as name, email, and a provider user ID) so we can create or sign you into a DDB account. We use that data only to authenticate you and operate your account — not to post on your behalf. You can still use email sign-in if social options are available. To request account deletion or full comment erasure, use our Delete my data page or email support@dudesdrinkingbourbon.com.

Newsletter

If you join the newsletter — from the newsletter page, popup, optional checkbox at account sign-up, or Preferences — we use your email only to send occasional updates about Dudes Drinking Bourbon. Opt-in is never required to create an account. Signed-in users can turn the newsletter off anytime at Preferences, or email support@dudesdrinkingbourbon.com.

Browser push alerts

Fire Pit Night browser alerts are optional and separate from the email newsletter. You may enable them after joining the newsletter (popup or newsletter page), via an optional checkbox at account sign-up, or later in Preferences. We store a push subscription endpoint and keys so we can notify this browser when a new Fire Pit Night is posted. To stop alerts, turn them off in your browser or system notification settings; signed-in members can also manage alerts from Preferences.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent for marketing emails or non-essential cookies at any time via Preferences, the cookie banner (where shown for GDPR regions), Cookie Policy page, Delete my data, or the contact email below.
