The Law of the Fire Pit
The rules that keep the circle right — and the blueprint for a group worth pouring for.
How you get judged at our bars
We've had probably a hundred people sit around Steve's fire pit over the years. Most of them never get invited back. Some people call that being exclusive, but for us, it's just about preserving the right environment.
Here is how you get judged at our bars:
- The Clout Chaser: If you only reach for the most expensive, allocated bottle on the shelf just to brag about it, you're excluded.
- The Mooch: If you only want to drink our good stuff but keep your own bottles locked away at home, you're excluded.
- The Flipper: If you buy bourbon just to resell it and drive up prices for the rest of us, you're definitely excluded.
- The Asshole: If you bring a bad attitude, bring drama, or don't know how to treat people right, you're excluded.
BUT... if you understand good times, know how to talk trash, can tell a good story, and love to laugh your ass off with friends? You will always have a seat at our fire.
The DDB Blueprint for a Badass Group
If you want a great bourbon group, stop treating whiskey like an investment portfolio. Bourbon is meant to be opened. It's meant to create memories, laughs, and good times with your buddies.
Drink it, share it, and—as we always say—piss it out.
Cheers, folks.
